Can we see Machu Picchu at sunrise?

Yes, if you sleep in Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes) the night before and book the first entry time slot. On our honeymoon itinerary that night is optional, so tell us when you book. Morning cloud is common, especially in the wet season, so sunrise views are never guaranteed.

What is the best time of year for a romantic trip to Peru?

May to September is the best time, with dry, sunny days in the Andes and clear evenings for dinners outdoors. It is also the busiest season, so book early. The wet season, November to April, brings greener landscapes and fewer visitors, with some rainy days.

Can we have a symbolic wedding ceremony in Peru?

How do couples handle the altitude in Peru?

Go up gradually. Our honeymoon route flies into Cusco and drops straight to the Sacred Valley, which sits lower, and keeps Rainbow Mountain for the last days. On Taquile Island in Lake Titicaca, weaving and knitting are everyday work for both men and women, and UNESCO lists Taquile and its textile art as Intangible Cultural Heritage. Look for the chullo, a knitted hat with earflaps, and the wide calendar belt that records the farming year. On the Peruvian Wonders trip you spend part of a day there.
