Lima: History, Markets, and the Kitchen of South America
Your journey begins in Lima with two days that do the city justice. A guided historic city tour covers the UNESCO-listed city center - the grand Plaza Mayor, the ornate Cathedral, and the baroque colonial quarter that reveals Lima’s centuries of history. The afternoon shifts to Lima’s greatest modern achievement: its food. A culinary tour through local markets, street stalls, and celebrated restaurants introduces you to Peruvian cuisine - ceviche, causa, anticuchos, pisco sour - and sets the tone for a journey where every meal carries meaning.
Paracas, Pisco & Huacachina: Peru’s Desert Coast
The journey south reveals a Peru most visitors never see. A morning at Paracas National Reserve puts you in one of South America’s most dramatic coastal landscapes - towering red cliffs, turquoise Pacific waters, and resident flamingos along the shoreline. The following day takes you to one of Peru’s most ancient pisco distilleries for a tasting of the country’s national spirit, before the afternoon delivers one of the trip’s most exhilarating moments: Huacachina, a desert oasis ringed by South America’s highest sand dunes, explored by dune buggy and sandboard as the sun drops behind the horizon.
