The Sun gate Intipunku route demands a good level of fitness and is moderately challenging, with significant elevation changes, steep steps, and uneven terrain to navigate during the hike. From June 1st to October 15th and December 30th to 31st, which is the high season, circuit 1C is open for visit. May to October is perfect for travelers due to the more consistent weather and clearer skies, but reservations should be made well in advance to guarantee a spot as it is also the busiest travel period.

Be ready for a variety of weather conditions as mornings can be foggy and afternoons can be warm. Make sure to read our blog post to learn more about the Machu Picchu weather and to choose your preferred month.
