Private 2-Day Inca Trail

You will be picked up at your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 am and head to the train station in Ollantaytambo. Passing the Urubamba river, we will take the train to km 104 from where we start the 2-day Inca Trail. Time to hike uphill for around 4 hours until arriving at the archaeological site of Wiñay Wayna. Here, we will eat our box lunch while enjoying a beautiful view.

Next, we will continue hiking to the sun gate Inti Punku. From this point, we have an absolutely stunning view of Machu Picchu, making it the perfect place to take some unforgettable pictures. It’s also the official end of the Inca trail. Afterwards, we will head down to the entrance of Machu Picchu to take the bus to Aguas Calientes, where we have dinner and spend the night at a 3-star hotel.

Hiking distance: 12 km/7.5 miles (8 hours)

Today, we will get up early to do a 1-hour hike to Machu Picchu for sunrise before the crowds arrive. Observe the historic city as it is colored by the sunlight. Here, you will have a 2-hour guided tour visiting the most important sites of the ancient city of the Incas. Afterwards, you can opt to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain but remember that you need to get your tickets weeks in advance.

At the end of this tour, you’ll return to Aguas Calientes by bus and in the afternoon you’ll take the train to Ollantaytambo. From here, our driver will take you back to Cusco.
