Arequipa
Overview
Arequipa is a city in southern Peru that is surrounded by three volcanoes and distinguished by its sillar, a white volcanic stone and colonial architecture.
Weather: Arequipa experiences extremely low annual precipitation due to its semi-arid environment. You’ll typically experience warm weather, with average daytime highs of 20 to 25°C (68 – 77°F) and lower highs of 5 to 12°C (41 to 54°F) at night.
Due to its year-round sunshine, the city is a favorite among tourists trying to get away from colder areas.
Altitude: Arequipa is situated at approximately 2,328 m (7,638 ft) above sea level.

- Arequipa to Cusco 1:15 h by plane (10 – 12 h by bus)
- Arequipa to Puno 1 h by plane (4 – 5 h by bus)
- Arequipa to Lima 1:30 h by plane (14 – 16 h by bus)
- Arequipa to Iquitos 3 – 4 h by plane (only option)
- Arequipa to Puerto Maldonado 2 – 3 h by plane (only option)
