It’s important to think about both the practical and logistical aspects before discovering Circuit 3C. To access this route, you must first pass through the main entrance control to the Inka city of Machu Picchu at one of the following two time slots:
If you enter during the first slot you must reach the Huayna Picchu Mountain access control point by 8:00 a.m., in case you are entering during the second slot you must arrive at the checkpoint by 11:00 a.m. for registration.
After passing the Huayna Picchu Mountain checkpoint, you’ll follow the trail to the fork leading down to the Great Cavern (Temple of the Moon), which is marked by signs and/or control staff. This route does not permit ascending to the summit of Wayna Picchu Mountain.
The maximum time allowed at the Great Cavern from check-in to check-out at the Huayna Picchu Mountain checkpoint is 4 hours.
Following completion of the Great Cavern Route, you may remain in the Inka city of Machu Picchu for a maximum of 1 hour.
The uneven terrain and steep inclines make this trail moderately challenging, requiring a good level of fitness. Comfortable clothing and appropriate hiking footwear are essential.
Purchasing your Machu Picchu ticket in advance is recommended, particularly during the busiest travel seasons.

Circuit 3C operates in the high season only, from May to October. There are 1,450 tickets per day to protect the site and manage crowds. Buy as early as you can, especially for peak months.
You must enter the main gate in one of two windows: 6:00 to 6:30 a.m. or 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. Then reach the Huayna Picchu checkpoint by 8:00 a.m. if you entered early, or by 11:00 a.m. if you entered in the later slot, to register for the Great Cavern Route.
The route takes about 3 hours 30 minutes. If you use the ticket for both the tour and the hike, plan for 4 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours total. After finishing, you can remain inside Machu Picchu for up to 1 hour.
Expect agricultural terraces, water fountains, the Temple of the Sun, the Inca Palace, the main plaza, the industrial sector, the Temple of the Condor, and the Great Cavern, also called the Temple of the Moon. This circuit visits quieter areas with strong photo spots away from crowds.
No. Circuit 3C does not allow summiting Wayna Picchu. The iconic postcard view is part of Circuit 2 and is typically shot from the upper terraces. On 3C, you can capture similar angles from lower platforms only.
The trail is moderately challenging with uneven, steep sections. Wear solid hiking shoes and light layers. Bring a rain jacket, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, bug repellent, snacks, and a reusable water bottle. Review local weather and pack accordingly.

Hola, gracias por todas las explicaciones!! Nos gustaría hacer el circuito 3c y el 2 ruta diseñada.
Las entradas para el 3c son a partir de las 7:00 pero acá vemos que hay un control de entrada a las 6 y a las 9. A qué hora conviene sacar las entradas? Muchas gracias!!!
