When I was a child I remember growing up with my grandparents and uncles in a small and cute high Andean Village. Furthermore I could see many people working in the fields, animals passing through the alleys. For instance something that I also saw very closely was the practice of the different ancestral customs that united us to mother earth, even more to our holy mountains (Apus) it makes us respect and love it.
At the same time and thanks to all the teaching of my parents and grandparents I learned a lot about my culture and andean traditions. Then I asked myself a question. What kind of job would be one in which I can share my knowledge? That passed from generation to generation.
So I love when people learn these customs, traditions and that time was when I decided to study tourism to complement my knowledge and I got a degree in Administrative Sciences and Tourism, the degree is just a formality but what I really love is sharing my millenary culture with visitors from all over the world and that makes me feel very proud about it, at the same time I feel like an ambassador of my culture.
I have worked more than 12 years in Tourism and I passed through all the areas that you can imagine and also I met many people who enriched my knowledge and when I lead groups of visitors I like to share my culture and experiences. On the other hand I love that the visitors feel part of the town, part of my culture and of course part of my family.
And Finally I would like to share something with you … In the Andes and in my native Quechua language, there is no word to say bye or goodbye, instead of that we say “Tupananchis Cama” which means; Until the next time we meet.
